"The first film I ever wrote, directed, and produced was a ridiculously ambitious hour-long "short" film - aka, my senior project at Yale - that literally could never have been made without the resources of the Digital Media Center for the Arts. The round-the-clock access to both production and post-production equipment at the DMCA was invaluable, and the support of the staff was something that I am grateful for to this day. That film ("Ivy Weeds") was made long before I knew anything about making movies, and so the Product has its flaws, however the Process was the formative experience of my college years, and one I hope Yalies can embark on for years to come."

Beau Bauman, American Studies 1999

Beau Bauman is the producer and co-writer of Focus Features/Rogue Pictures' Cry_Wolf, starring Julian Morris, Lindy Booth, Jared Padalecki, and Jon Bon Jovi. The film was released in September of 2005 on 1800 screens nationwide, and has since grossed $10M in the domestic theatrical box office alone — over ten times its $1M budget.

Beau graduated from Yale University, was a Presidential Scholar, and is a published author. He has worked in various production capacities on a number of feature films, and as a story analyst for Jerry Bruckheimer Films. He is also a graduate of the Peter Stark Producing Program at the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television. While there, he co-wrote and produced The Tower of Babble (uncredited narration by Kevin Spacey), which played film festivals all over the world and won more than two dozen awards, including the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival.

In addition to the latter, Beau has produced a number of other shorts, including Jeff Wadlow's Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker's Award finalist film as well as the Chrysler-branded Manual Labor and Living the Lie (starring Topher Grace and Estella Warren); and Andrew Cohen's American Storage (starring Steve Carell).

Beau and Jeff Wadlow, Beau's writing and producing partner as well as the director of Cry_Wolf, recently scripted the suspense thriller Prey with Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Darrell Roodt, who is directing the feature.
