"Working at the DMCA provided me with a unique opportunity to meet creative people from various schools. These experiences proved to be a great asset when I began working in the field of architectural design."
Lihan graduated from the Yale School of Architecture with a Master of Environmental Design in 2004. She is currently working in New York with an architectural lighting firm that has worked with world famed architects Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Toyo Ito and others.
Lihan's graduate thesis at Yale explored metaphoric shadows in art and architecture. She considers shade and shadows to be among the strongest characterizations of any building; “…even when you are far away from a building, its shadow creeps out and touches you, both physically and emotionally.” Working in the field of lighting design allows her to further her shadow exploration.
Lihan holds a bachelor's degree in architecture and has studied in Paris as an exchange student. She chaired the committee of the Taiwanese Women's Rights Organization and the Yale Taiwanese Student Association. Lihan currently lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.
