"In 2000, Yale College music professor Matthew Suttor (now on faculty at YSD) and I received a DMCA grant to create The Ankle-Diver, a multi-media dance-theatre piece inspired by Japanese Noh. The artistic freedom we were afforded in trying to wed live performance with technology was, quite literally, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am forever grateful for the generosity and expertise of the artists and staff at the DMCA who allowed us to dream big, fail big, and succeed big, all in equal measure."
Tim Acito toured internationally as a modern dancer for many years before returning to Yale to get his MFA in Playwriting in 2002. He is currently writing the book, music, and lyrics to The Women of Brewster Place, a musical based on the prize-winning novel by Gloria Naylor, which will be co-produced by the Alliance Theatre (Atlanta) and Arena Stage (Washington D.C.) in the Fall of 2007.
